Turn a spare Android phone into a managed router

The hardware to deploy a managed cellular router is sitting in a drawer in every office. Old Android phones already have radios, batteries, screens, and Wi-Fi. The SIMSY Router app turns one into a fully managed SIMSY device — with the same configuration, monitoring, and policy controls you get on a Teltonika or Robustel.

Five minutes from drawer to deployment

01

Install the SIMSY Router app

Available for Android 10+. Sideload the APK or grab it from the Play Store. The app needs Notification access to manage the cellular session and Hotspot to share connectivity.

02

Sign in with your SIMSY API key

The app registers the phone as a managed device on your account. You can name it, group it, and assign network policies the same way you would a router.

03

Insert a SIMSY SIM

Physical or eSIM. The phone connects to the SIMSY network and pulls its configuration automatically — APN, DNS, routing policy, allowed destinations.

04

Share connectivity

Toggle Hotspot. Connect your laptops, sensors, cameras, robotic dogs — anything that does Wi-Fi or USB tethering. The phone applies SIMSY policies to all of them.

The hardware was already in the room

Pop-up sites

Festivals, building sites, demo days. A spare phone, a SIMSY SIM, and you have managed connectivity in minutes.

Failover backup

Drop the Android Router next to a fixed-line installation as a hot standby. Cuts over automatically.

Field engineer kits

Every engineer carries a spare phone already. Skip the dedicated router and use what is in their pocket.

Lab and test environments

Dev teams running cellular testing without ordering hardware. Five minutes to a working router.
