Teltonika Calyx EBD050
The EBD050 is the flagship of the Calyx family — a full 5G Sub-6 GHz cellular HAT+ that turns a Raspberry Pi 4 or Pi 5 into a high-throughput 5G edge device. Designed for the deployments where 4G isn't enough: HD camera streams, edge inference, real-time control, industrial signage. Same Pi HAT form factor, same GPIO modem control, same fanless design — the difference is in the modem.
Key features
- 5G NR Sub-6 GHz — significantly higher throughput than the 4G variant
- Raspberry Pi HAT+ form factor — Pi 4 / Pi 5 compatible
- High-speed USB 3 host interface for 5G throughput off-board
- GPIO modem control — wake, reset, power-cycle from the Pi
- PCM audio interface
- Fanless industrial-grade build

Best for
Edge AI / inference at the cell tower
Run a model on the Pi, stream results upstream over 5G. Low latency, high throughput, no fixed-line needed.
Industrial digital signage
Multiple HD streams to the cloud or down from a CMS. 5G's headroom means you are not the bottleneck.
HD camera arrays and surveillance
Backhaul a Pi-managed array of IP cameras over a single 5G link. Combine with Cellular Private LAN to keep the feeds off the public internet.
Connected vehicle / mobile platforms
Pi handles vehicle logic; 5G keeps it connected as it moves. The EBD050 is small enough to fit into compact enclosures.
